A impermeabilização é um tratamento que atua como uma “película” protetora invisível, repelindo líquidos e/ou outro tipo de sujidades, mantendo assim as suas características iniciais.
Pelo seu uso diário, o seu sofá, assim como tapetes, cortinas, colchões, entre outros, estão constantemente sujeitos a manchas e nódoas. Por isso, é recomendado o tratamento com o uso de impermeabilizantes para proteger e prolongar a vida útil do seu tecido.
O tratamento de impermeabilização não altera as características iniciais do tecido, ou seja, não altera a cor, textura nem cheiro.

A durabilidade da impermeabilização pode, dependendo do cuidado com o estofado, variar de 6 meses a 1 ano para residências com animais domésticos ou crianças (uso intenso) e mais de 1 ano para residências com uso moderado.
A impermeabilização não torna o tecido impermeável, mas produz uma repelência devido a perda de capilaridade (absorção) das fibras.
